Chanukah is the “Festival of Lights.”

“Oh Chanukah, oh Chanukah, come light the Menorah…”

​

I am telling an old story with "a new light," through  illustration and text.

​

Celebrating the retaking of the Temple Mount by our Maccabee heroes, the miracle of the oil and the light that burns in every Jewish heart 

is part of the story that is repeated over and over.

​

The top triangle of the Jewish Star, depicts the darkness and the oil used in the fueling of the

Menorah.  The bottom half shows the menorah with the lamp holders in a straight line at even heights.

​

The Shamash is a separate light.

Within we see a dreidel with the Hebrew letters Hay and Shin showing.
